
Shivshakti Laminates envisaged their new retail space as a one-of-a-kind showroom in Surat with a unique and high recall value, one that would maximise and experiment with merchandise display strategies. The leading Suratbased purveyors of laminates and veneers turned to Utopia Designs who adopted innovative display strategies to create a distinct, memorable experience centre.
“The particular design theme was a mix of conventional and innovative display strategies. The ability to display combinations of laminates makes it easy for clients as well as end-users to showcase/understand the aesthetic usage of products. The conventional strategies make it possible for around 5,000+ laminates and 200+ varieties to be displayed at a time. This presents a wide choice to end-users (retail clients) as well as small retailers who are also Shivshakti’s clients. Through this experience centre, Shivshakti Laminates has also started getting small franchise queries,” says Urvakhsh Chichgar, Principal designer and Founder, Utopia Designs.
The site is located at a disused textile manufacturing plant in one of Surat’s industrial precincts. The ground floor, outside the scope of the assignment, is a warehouse/ storehouse while the EightxFour Experience Centre by Shivshakti Laminates and the allied office activities are housed on the first floor.
