Designed by IKS ARCHITECTS, the Dhiraj Police Store in Rajkot, Gujarat, has been conceptualised to craft a unique retail experience. Located in an urban dense fabric on the ground floor of a commercial building near the old city, the government licensed store is designed to serve the police force and associated dignitaries.
Ankita Ghosh

The interiors of Dhiraj Police Store has been designed to enhance the visibility and individuality of each product related to police professionals. The basic layout is linear and unhindered in its path, yet experiential in terms of its background, ceiling and colours. The main idea is to accommodate the client’s storage requirements and display as many accessories as possible without making it chaotic or unnoticed.

The most striking feature of the store is efficient usage of space with a large provision for both storage and display within a limited area. The store is primarily bifurcated based on the popularity of the product, while allotting ample space for storage.

Materials are chosen so as to not overpower the products and are in alignment with the limited space. The rawness of metal and wood is highlighted while lending elegance. Metal is used generously in ceiling and display area to add sleekness to the products. The ceiling is flushed with metal truss as it serves the main selling spaces of the store, with the green leaves around it complementing the whole space.
