El turismo es uno de los principales motores económicos globales que impulsará la recuperación en el periodo poscovid y en plena crisis de las materias primas, con una inflación galopante, que amenaza con el estancamiento, la estanflación y un nuevo orden internacional condicionado por la guerra de Ucrania.

Como industria motriz en España el turismo representa el 12,6% del PIB y emplea al 11% de los españoles, su principal reto es la sostenibilidad, abordar la transformación competitiva del modelo de negocios en términos de digitalización, calidad y sostenibilidad. El mismo desafío que afronta la humanidad en la transición de una economía lineal a una economía circular.

A los operadores del sector turístico empresarios hoteleros, agencias de viajes, turoperadores, etc y al resto de los agentes económicos se les exige que adapten sus negocios a un modelo de producción que minimice las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero. Que tengan un impacto ambiental cero que permita regenerar los ecosistemas y la biodiversidad. En fin, medidas que conllevan una gran inversión.
