In this issue

There are lots of outdoor events such as beach and full-moon yoga classes, car boots and more. You’ll find details in our comprehensive Happenings section, which is updated throughout the month at www.bahrainthismonth.com – I’m particularly looking forward to the Peace One Day Concert and the performance by China’s Suzhou Ballet Theatre, specially for World Tourism Day.

In keeping with tourism appreciation, we have a special feature this month on developments within the Kingdom’s tourism economy and interviewee, business development expert Emre Kirazci, of Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea and Spa, has plenty to say on the subject.

Our other interviewees this month are Dr Susan E Saxton, who is at the head of the newly opened American University of Bahrain; artist Isa Abdullah, whose amazingly lifelike sketches are a treat for the eye; and biokineticist Johan Esterhuizen
We also turn the spotlight on Adliya’s famed Block 338 giving you the rundown on some of the best restaurants available.
