Welcome to our October digital edition, we hope all our readers are staying safe. This month the region is adapting and is on the road to recovery from the challenges presented by the current outbreak – slowly but surely. The Kingdom achieved a milestone in its clinical trials for the COVID-19 vaccine when 6000 volunteers signed up for the trials, inspired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister who also volunteered. This month, we caught up with numerous prolific personalities including a young Bahraini, Mohsen Faleejim, who has inspired thousands across the Kingdom in a tell-all video. Mohsen, who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, shares his experience from his diagnosis to his source of strength with us. We also had the opportunity to speak to the head of Bahrain’s Jewish Community and Shura Council member, Ebrahim Dahood Nonoo, who shared his insight on the historic Bahrain-Israel agreement which took place in September. Our other interviews this month shone a light on creativity in two very diverse forms with Salman Fouad Kamal who told us about his unique fluid art, and Florencia Chaldu who has a passion for creating authentic, mouth-watering gelato! In our Motoring section, Dick Potter who just got back from a trip to the UK shares his first-hand experience with cyclists…who didn’t necessarily create the best of impressions. On the other hand, Sangeeth Mullassery tells us what he thinks car dealerships can do to improve customers’ buying experiences. Another significant event in the world of Motoring in the region is the launch of the 2021 Mercedes E-class sedan which we were able to attend at The Avenues-Bahrain.
