The renovation project for INOX, in the City Mall located at the heart of Gorakhur city, had a very clear objective - to generate more revenues and create a distinct experience for the patrons. The design team came up with the Art Deco concept, a style of architecture and design made popular in the 20s that focused on creating an ambience of luxury, glamour, and grandeur. The design team dived deep into this retro style and adapted it to suit the modern and aspirational tastes of the tier 2 city.
Says Bhabuk Jain, Partner, Sync Design Studio, speaking about it, “Art Deco style for the particular cinema was chosen very thoughtfully as it is always associated with luxurious settings and is timeless. The objective was to create a luxurious experience for the patrons while keeping the budgets in check. We had to be very thoughtful about integrating art deco elements in the design, while giving it a modern twist.”
