In a landmark judgment, the Bhuj Special NDPS Court convicted 19 foreign nationals—18 Pakistani citizens and one Afghan national—in three major heroin smuggling cases involving narcotics worth Rs 575 crore.
The court sentenced each accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh under Sections 8(c) and 23(c) of the NDPS Act, directing that the two sentences be served consecutively.
