PARENTS AND PUPILS UPSET AFTER INCIDENT INVOLVING INJURIES AND ARRESTS

- By OLIVER PRIDMORE

Scary’ scenes outside school

A WOMAN living near a Clifton primary school that was surrounded by police cordons says her son has asked if they can move house.

Nottinghamshire Police closed off several stretches of road around Dovecote Primary and Nursery School on Greencroft after an altercation at around 3pm on Monday.

Two people sustained minor injuries in the incident - less than 24 hours after a 16-year-old was taken to hospital after another stabbing in Clifton - and three people were arrested.

“A few weeks ago, the police were chasing a teenager and they ended up jumping my gate and coming into my back garden,” said one woman living next to the Dovecote School.

The 39-year-old, who has lived in the area for three years, says recent incidents have left her family feeling unsafe.

“It’s all terrifying for the kids,” she said.

“My son goes to school on a bike and now he doesn’t want to go on the bike - he wants to go in the car.
