The food and agriculture industry is modernizing rapidly across India. New technologies such as GM crops and mutation breeding have introduced great changes in the way we grow crops and has also altered our outlook over how we approach agriculture. The changes are not limited to technological progress. Modernization also entails changes in the policy and support structure for agriculture and food consumption. Rapid changes in markets for these are making us re-think traditional ways of thinking about policy on agriculture and food consumption.
