When people think of Rajasthan, images of golden deserts, majestic forts, colorful markets, and endless sand dunes usually come to mind.

WATERFALLS OF RAJASTHAN YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED

Waterfalls are rarely associated with India’s largest state. Yet, hidden among the Aravalli hills, forested valleys, and rocky plateaus are a number of spectacular waterfalls that come alive during the monsoon season. These natural wonders offer a refreshing contrast to Rajasthan’s arid image and reveal a lesser-known side of the state.

Every year, from July to September, seasonal rivers and streams swell with rainwater, transforming rocky cliffs into cascading waterfalls. For travelers seeking offbeat experiences, Rajasthan’s waterfalls provide a perfect blend of adventure, scenic beauty, and tranquility.

MENAL WATERFALL: THE MINI NIAGARA OF RAJASTHAN

Located near Chittorgarh in the Bhilwara district, Menal Waterfall is often called the “Mini Niagara of Rajasthan.” The waterfall plunges nearly 150 feet into a deep gorge carved by the Menali River. During the monsoon, the sight of water crashing over rugged cliffs creates a dramatic spectacle.

What makes Menal even more fascinating is its historical significance. Nearby stands the ancient Menal Temple complex, dating back to the 11th century. The combination of heritage architecture and natural beauty makes this destination a favorite among photographers and history enthusiasts alike.

BHIMLAT WATERFALL: RAJASTHAN'S HIDDEN GEM

Nestled in Bundi district, Bhimlat Waterfall is one of Rajasthan’s most stunning yet lesser-known attractions. Surrounded by rocky terrain and lush greenery during the rainy season, the waterfall drops from a height of approximately 60 meters into a natural pool below.
