THE mother of a woman who died with her daughter in a collision in Plymouth has vowed to continue her “fight for justice” over their loss.
Destiny Harrison, 24, and five-year-old Linnea Harrison died in a collision with a car as they walked across a pedestrian crossing in Victoria Road, Plymouth, in 2024, an inquest heard this week.
Devon Coroner's Court in Exeter heard Ms Harrison and her daughter were in collision with a Nissan Qashqai car driven by pensioner Brenda Marriott, 76.
Philip Spinney, senior coroner for Devon, Plymouth and Torbay, recorded conclusions they died from a road traffic collision.
“Destiny Harrison died due to injuries sustained after being hit by a car whilst crossing Victoria Road,” he said. “Linnea Harrison died due to injuries sustained after being hit by a car whilst crossing Victoria Road.
“For the family the feelings of loss and grief are hard to imagine.
“I add to those that have already gone before in offering my sincerest condolences for the loss of Destiny and Linnea.”
Speaking after the inquest, Ms Harrison's mother, Sally Harrison, thanked the people who helped her daughter and granddaughter after the collision.
“Linnea and Destiny would walk everywhere together and she understood road safety because Destiny was so conscientious about it,” she said.
