Thousands attend BBC show to have trinkets and heirlooms valued

From huge paintings that have been in the family for generations to tiny trinkets that could potentially be worth big money, people from across the North East brought their treasures along as The Antiques Roadshow took over Souter Lighthouse.

Due to the popularity of the roadshow, the events are ticketed with around 2,500 people in attendance over the course of the day on Saturday.

As well as antiques and family heirlooms, the experts were keen to see more modern treasures - everything from retro toys to movie and music memorabilia, from mid-century furniture to vintage fashion, from designer handbags to rare trainers.
