I have nothing to prove, says new Hornet Allan
Shields Gazette
|July 06, 2026
Former Newcastle United and South Shields forward Tom Allan insists both he and new club Hebburn Town FC have nothing to prove as they embark on their National League North adventure.
The 26-year-old has been one of several new additions to the Hornets squad this summer after agreeing to join from new step-two rivals Darlington - and he made his debut in Saturday’s pre-season friendly win against former Northern Premier League Premier Division promotion rivals Warrington Rylands.
Fellow newcomers Elliot Forbes and Jake Charles also made their Hornets bow during the 5-0 romp as Daniel Moore’s men kicked off their pre-season campaign with a promising performance at the Trustmark Group Stadium. A busy schedule lies in wait for Allan and his new teammates as Hebburn prepare for a first ever season in non-league's second tier - but the versatile forward believes facing a higher calibre of opposition should hold no fear.
