The manipur sangai festival (november 21-30), and the hornbill festival of nagaland (december 1-10), are two back-to-back cultural extravaganzas that draw culture, food and music aficionados from all over the country and abroad to imphal and kohima every year. THE MANIPUR Sangai Festival promises to display a plethora of cultural and indigenous sports events and mouthwatering cuisines of the region. A mélange of shows will showcase the rich heritage of the state. The festival is named after the endangered brow-antlered deer Sangai (also called the Dancing Deer), which inhabits Keibul Lamjao National Park, the only ‘floating’ national park in the world.
