Upping The Ante

A quarter-litre Gixxer SF that inherits the dynamics of the regular Gixxer, now with more power

THE SUZUKI GIXXER SF 250 IS AN all-new bike, in the sense that it doesn’t replace any product in Suzuki’s current line-up. But strip it down to its parts, and you’ll find it isn’t entirely bespoke. You see, the chassis is an updated, reinforced version of the one on the 155cc Gixxer, with some updates to the steering geometry to make it sharper. The engine, on the other hand, is an entirely new 249cc motor, putting out 26bhp and 22.6Nm. The interesting bit about this engine is that it’s an oil-cooled motor, that has no cooling fins. As for the styling, the 250 gets an updated silhouette. The design is sharper and more angular – a very appealing design, because it is not too polarising and most people should take to it.
