Queen Elizabeth never expected to be Queen. Her father, George VI, neither expected to be King nor to die aged 56. -when Princess Elizabeth was only 25!
 Even Republicans must acknowledge that the Queen did her duty, in exemplary fashion, continuously, for over 70 years.
How the world has changed in that time!

Young people in cities ask why do we need farms when we’ve got supermarkets? No wonder farmers feel under-appreciated, according to research by Exeter University.
Meanwhile Janey Lee Grace continues her commitment to purity and excellence in her latest Platinum Awards and Robin Daly provides another three fascinating new pieces on coping with cancer.

Today, towards the end of the first quarter of the 21st Century, we now face more major elections worldwide than ever before, as well as more potentially threatening ‘events’ than ever before. 
Whatever else, it will not be dull!

This bumper issue of Health Triangle Magazine remains totally apolitical. We are concerned exclusively with your health and personal well-being - from cradle to grave! NHS focuses on daily dental health from Milk Teeth onwards. 
J J Stenhouse provides her personal tribute to her recently departed friend and outstanding co-presenter Dr Mark Goulston. 
Poetry Corner features a poem by Longfellow entitled ‘The Tide rises, the Tide falls’ suggesting an unchanging constancy. Yet the water is less cold now than it was when the poem was written - but still cold enough to consider the benefits of an Ice Swim.

Change is not always for the better! 
And the air is more polluted than when the poem was written - yet contributors contend that a thoughtful diet can reduce its impact, as can proprietary gels. 
The importance of both Sleep and Silence are also fully recognised. The power of the heart and mind are totally acknowledged.

As 2023 draws to a close in the western world, this edition of Health Triangle Magazine focuses far more on the present and the future than on the past. 
The tone is optimistic. But realistic. 
Plants feature prominently. But not uncritically. Sofi health reveal how they rely on the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kew to provide them with independent quality control. 
Kirsten Hartvig’s new book entitled ‘Food as Medicine’ is clear in its presentation of plants amazing strengths but also their occasional weaknesses. 
New broadcaster on UK Health Radio and new contributor to the magazine, Dr Howard Rankin, makes the case for getting real when it comes to making New Year resolutions. Historical experience shows that making lasting changes to old habits requires much more than just wishful thinking!
Another new radio show presenter sharing her truth, in written form for the first time, is our very own Raphaela Ilgenfritz. Hers is not an easy story but Trish Beaver has told it simply and clearly, in good and honest style.
Likewise Johann Ilgenfritz joined other CEOs in spending a November night sleeping rough in central London. In doing so, he raised both Awareness and Funds.
We cannot change a single second of what is past. But one new day at a time, we all have a fresh chance with what Mary Oliver once described as our ‘one wild and precious life’.

Today sofi.health, a newcomer to UK Health Radio, is applying rigorous discipline in order to present ‘Nature’s science for modern medicine’, with regular individual feedback from an online community some 15,000 strong!
Since the global pandemic in recent years, health has become everyone’s single biggest issue - physical health and mental health and the synergy between the two.
The power of the mind is acknowledged time and time again in this issue. Joanne-Divine Life Yogini offers optimism is her passionate ‘dark night of the soul’ article. Niki Cassar and others acknowledge that the power to heal all our dis-ease is available within us.
Dr Spiegel and others believe we can and should access it ourselves. How better to deal with potentially debilitating stress or anxiety than by identifying it clearly? And perhaps recording it on a daily basis in a personal journal?
Our only indisputable power is over our own attitudes towards the problems which confront us. And the behaviour which is born of those attitudes. It is not realistic to imagine any individual among us can solve the war in Ukraine or in Gaza or anywhere else on earth. 
In Henry V, Shakespeare glorifies war with the idea that the ‘youth of England is on fire.’
More realistically he says: ‘Now thrive the armourers!’

This of Health Triangle magazine is more than usually reflective of mortality. That is not for one second to suggest that it is morbid in any way!
UK Health Radio star presenter, Mark Goulston, writes about his realistic reaction to a diagnosis of an incurable condition. He has his own personal plan for a good death and he is executing it in stoical style. 
Exemplary advice!
Breaking News highlights the appalling and unacknowledged fate of literally hundreds of children and young people apparently lost in wildfires in Hawaii.
Joyce Grayson celebrated her great life of 90 years, while her nephew Barry Graham acknowledged her great age with original life-affirming poetry.
In Yes to Life, Dr Adeel Khan reveals how natural Killer cells called KC for short can be extracted, boosted and reintroduced - to kill cancer cells!
In TV review, Painkiller records the shocking activity of a big player in the Opioid scandal.
The NHS feature focuses on the most common cancer for women - breast cancer.

This is the specific topic for the NHS feature in this month’s edition of Health Triangle Magazine. Yet it could be an over-arching theme for the world in which we all now find ourselves - internationally with war in Europe and the threat of war with China, locally with the potential impact of Climate Change and the possible collapse of traditional law and order. 
Unlike mainstream media, Breaking News looks objectively at an independently established link between mRNA and excess deaths from myocarditis. The key point is that there is no point in losing sleep over things we cannot change - like the war in Ukraine or the tensions around Taiwan. Our responsibility is primarily to ourselves alone. This is the only area in which we have real control. What we think, what we eat, what exercise we take. What we put on our skin, into our heads or into our bodies.
From the cover onwards, you can see that we are 100% in favour of optimism. How can we make the best of our own reality? That Is the question we need to focus on and here you have a variety of sincere opinions. We are not asking you to accept them all unconditionally, word for word. We are asking you to consider them all, with an open mind. Contempt prior to investigation is neither scientific nor rational. The test may come if the World Health Organisation declares a new global emergency. Will you still accept that mRNA injections really are as safe and effective as Dr Fauci once claimed? Or that there is any conclusive evidence for the benefits of wearing masks?
UK Health Radio is an independent information-station. Health Triangle Magazine reflects that independent freedom-of-speech principle. We simply want our readers to be well informed on any topic before they make their own independent individual opinion.

2023 has been the hottest year, apparently, in 100,000 years. Yet by the end of this century, 2023 may be considered ‘cool’ - and not in a good sense. Breaking News already reveals 60,000 excess heat-related deaths last year in Europe alone.

June in the UK this year has been the hottest on record and climate experts are now suggesting that this may the new normal in the immediate future.
If so, pure water and good hydration (NHS feature) will become increasingly important in all our future health programmes, as will avoiding any excess of ultra processed foods - even though they cost less, taste better and last longer than more nutritional alternatives! (Breaking News)
Like supermarket Meal Deals, the ‘bargain’ appeal is a double-edged sword. The rise in obesity in the West is solid evidence of an increasing problem. The tastes developed in childhood for sugar and salt inevitably make dietary best practice more difficult to adopt in adulthood. 

Poetry Corner looks at one man’s whimsical vision of his ideal world, while the piece on Chris Grimes’ most recent Improv workshop in France explores his virtually limitless practical possibilities for imagination and positivity. 
‘Yes to Life’ offers more courses than usual in exploring more integrative approaches to cancer treatment.

You wil find lots to think about in the mid-summer edition of this magazine - all of it completely free from artificial sweeteners, synthetic flavourings or unnatural preservatives.

“Make no small plans!”                                     
This edition of Health Triangle is brimming with ideas about making changes for the better. The biggest is perhaps the invitation to join a petition for Global Transformation one hundred thousand signatures strong...! On a more individual level, there are numerous invitations to take advice from recognised experts. The theme ‘Your life, your choice’ runs through many different articles from different authors, from Winspiration to Retreats and Renewals in Spain, either live or on a video link. 

Fear too raises its ugly head - along with the means to deal with it, whether it is in hypnotherapy with Niki Cassar or by identifying it through reading Julia Dodsworth ‘State of Fear.’ 
The new powers sought by the World Health Organisation are troubling, especially as they are potentially global and made by unelected executives. 

‘Joie de Vivre’ is the elixir we seek - through sensible self-care, healthy food and regular exercise. The only charge we can ever guarantee is one that relates exclusively to ourselves. You can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink! No one can force us to do anything. Our lives are own responsibility. Even how we choose to end them. Right now, let’s enjoy the green leaves of Summer and the Earth in all its bounteous abundance.

The Powers that Be…?

Human beings have always been curious. Have always looked for causes of problems and sought meaning in life. Now it feels that we may have moved into a Post Truth era where the mainstream media has a vested interest in toeing the party line rather than challenging the conventional narrative. 
UK Health Radio and Health Triangle Magazine both treasure their total independence from either party politics or shareholder pressure. Our broadcasters and feature-writers enjoy an open platform from which to express their honest and informed opinions.
In Yes to Life, for example, Mark Lintern and Robin Daly discuss at length Mark’s new personal research on Cancer. It’s fascinating stuff. At the other end of the spectrum, the NHS feature focuses on Restless Legs Syndrome. Rare but still fascinating!
Breaking News explores the disturbing global suppression of scientific debate throughout the Covid crisis and the unelected role of the World Health Organisation in future pandemics. 
In between, we look at the potential power of the mind in a variety of articles including Winspiration and Ageing Part 4 and Hypnotherapy. Emma -Jane Taylor breaks the silence on child sexual abuse and Andrew Tyler’s audiobook gets a global platform on UK Health Radio for the first time ever!

Danielle Sax writes on the Power of Authenticity, Janey Lee Grace suggests good ways to start your day, Wolfgang Sonnenburg’s Winspiration piece expands the original Shakespearean theme! At the outer ends of the free thinking, Robin Jillian looks at Relationships, Anthony Malpas has a book which claims that his faith in Christ cured his cancer and Robert Manni presents his case that Ageing is a Choice! Meanwhile Joanne Divine Life Yogini takes a spiritual view of Tarot cards and Niki Cassar introduces the extraordinary methodology of Dolores Cannon.

In the movie reviews, The Good Nurse, is all about the uncovering of America’s worst ever serial killer. Life, it seems, is not just complicated.
But infinitely complicated. Curiosity provides the opportunity for us to learn from our own mistakes, as well as from other people’s currently and historically. Welcome to the first edition of Health Triangle Magazine of 2023! One theme which emerges, in different forms, in this issue is the idea of taking personal responsibility for our own individual health. 
Breaking News asserts that the NHS would save hundreds of millions of pounds Sterling every year if preventable illness was more widely recognised as a real win: win opportunity - rather than being lazily ignored the way it is at present.
An anonymous nurse explains how his decision to strike is more about ethical values than an inflation-ravaged pay packet. Janey Lee Grace highlights the opportunities offered by an excellent organic diet. New arrival Robert Manni shares his personal experience of how his five-point plan has worked to enrich his whole life both physically and spiritually. Hypnotherapist Niki Cassar discusses another 5-Path Advanced Hypnosis process, which she studied in California with its founder Calvin Banyan. There is also fascinating if disturbing feature on the key practical and psychological factors that can so easily reduce the quality of lives for those living with disabilities.
In the strongest contrast, we look at the unbelievably privileged lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as presented in their 6 part Netflix Docuseries and as expressed in over 400 pages of almost uninterrupted self-pity by Prince Harry in his current memoir, Spare. With the help of a Pulitzer-prize-winning ghost-writer, Prince Harry articulates his savage hatred for the British tabloid press, his irrational envy of his older brother, William, the Prince of Wales and confesses to his own habitual abuse of drink and drugs. This bumper issue of Health Triangle celebrates 10 years of literally non-stop broadcasting by UK Health Radio - and the start of a new era of global podcasting on 20 well-established  platforms connecting with some 850 million listeners worldwide!
Impossible to imagine given the limited life expectancy predicted for UKHR founder Johann Ilgenfritz at the end February 2012. In his podcast interview with Chris Grimes, Johann chooses a quote from Mark Twain: “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born - and the day you discover what to do with it!” For Johann, that meant letting go of a glamorous international career in fashion photography and pioneering an unmapped journey in global health! For Niki Cassar, it meant letting go of a successful business making TV commercials and developing instead her passion for hypnotherapy and past life regression. For Sam Pope, it meant letting go of a family business, getting a degree in Psychology and pioneering a new technique using tarot cards as psychological levers. For Wolfgang Sonnenburg, it meant letting go of a conventional career as a successful lawyer in Hamburg. Wolfgang Sonnenburg’s success today as a human being is all about ‘getting real and working for the ideal.’
When Nelson Mandela stopped being a prisoner and became instead South Africa’s first Black President, his inaugural speech attributes this quote to him: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” In fact, they came from Marianne Williamson!

These words were written by W. B. Yeats around 100 years ago and have a new poignancy today as we come out of a global pandemic and find ourselves witnessing the first conventional war in Europe this century - one that could even conceivably go nuclear. In the year that we have seen the end of longest reign in English history and the shortest premiership ever! In this edition, we focus on the nearer future. At least we can be sure of today! 123 in improving your relatIonships as guided by Sadia Khan. ABC - arthritis, addiction, breast cancer and non-Covid-related deaths that have increased alarmingly. Cancer, of course, early for ovarian and then in our regular feature ‘Yes to Life’. A first for Football - as seen by psychiatric nurse John Sheldon, in his first ever book. Alcohol-free drink that you can make yourself at home or buy across the counter, seduced by the advertising idea ‘All of the fizz. None of the hangover.’ This reminded me of a classic cartoon where a long-suffering wife asks her incorrigible husband what he really wants out of life, to which he replies: ‘All the puddings I can eat, without getting fat!’ Time to get real, dear reader. Certainly not time to catastrophise. Time instead to absorb good information and modify your behaviour for your own benefit and the benefit of those around you. To hope for the best and to be careful where you put your feet - or your vote!

Guess who is credited with this assertion? Hippocrates? No - Napoleon Bonaparte!
The Covid pandemic has created global turbulence and meant that many other significant medical issues have been neglected in the process. Everyone has been challenged by different degrees of uncertainty and anxiety. From adolescents with their statutorily disturbed schooling to the very elderly isolated in their care homes, mental health issues have been centre stage at every stage for the last two years. 
This edition takes a realistic look at a variety of topics starting with an incurable and primarily adolescent problem - acne. “Compare and despair” is an appropriate truism. “Life on life’s terms” remains good advice. “Settle for who you are and what you’ve got.” Cultivate your quiet mind.
Alcohol consumption has increased dramatically  in response to the stress that has confronted everyone during and post Covid. You will find editorial and advertising encouragement for alcohol-free alternatives. But if you are dealing with diabetes and imagine that sugar-free fizzy drinks might be a good choice for you, please think again. 
Cancer was another crucially important condition that was over-shadowed by the relentless focus on Covid. 
Diabetes and Cancer have always got the columns they deserve every month in this magazine. This will continue - as well as an abundance of honest expert opinion and good scientific information. 
On a lighter note, I came back from my long weekend in Verteillac listening to three brilliant young pianists from England, Spain and Germany, with a short Zen poem that I would like to share with you: 
“Sitting quietly
Doing nothing 
Spring comes
The grass grows by itself.”

This timely advice remains more valid today than when first expressed hundreds of years ago. Confronting today’s information overload, the need for intelligent optimism is more important than ever. This advice is attributed to both Walt Whitman and Helen Keller. Either way,it’s good advice. Meanwhile, our lives go on more or less as normal, doing our best to remain healthy, wealthy and wise. At Health Triangle Magazine, our contributors continue to seek and share their wisdom and truth - as they see it. The NHS feature focuses first on Hay Fever. We may be stardust but we react adversely to flower dust, particularly between the months of March and September. There is good news of not one but two sets of Awards designed to recognise excellence across a broad spectrum of products and services. There is intelligent encouragement to look inwards and tap into the positive energy within every one of us, in a variety of well-proven ways. Positive inner energy is there in abundance and readily accessible. Leah Mattinson highlights the therapeutic power of music for both physical and mental health. Janey Lee Grace and others make the case for life without the nation’s number one drug - alcohol. Internationally, Breaking News highlights the hypocrisy of exporting dangerous pesticides and insecticides for financial reward simply because local laws allow the exporters to do so. The letter of the law is for lawyers, the spirit of the law is for honourable humans. When will they ever learn?!

In case you missed the subtle message on the cover, this is the 100th Edition of Health Triangle Magazine. And that we believe is something worth celebrating! We have all come through an extraordinarily challenging experience. As human beings, our primary purpose has simply been surviving the pandemic as best we can, without damaging others or ourselves. In business, the key objective has been to stay in business. In simple terms, staying alive and/or staying afloat. Now we need to acknowledge that life will never be the same again. It has changed forever! But pessimism is counter-productive. Stress is actively debilitating. That’s why our 100th edition is bursting with optimism! Even Poetry Corner features the words of Astrid Mundie, a fully-fledged optimist, if ever I saw one ! We also have a page of good news from around the world.
