Once Jeremy had a think about it, the untidy piles fell nicely into place

A lot to process & UNPACK

How I laughed when the bank manager told me he was still sitting with unpacked boxes at his home a full year after he’d moved in.

We had just shifted into our new house and were in the first flush of nesting: setting up rooms, organising cupboards, packing stuff away. It was sort of fun. The jobs were clear and it was all methodical. Bathroom stuff in the bathroom, garage stuff in the garage. In my mind, we'd position everything where it belonged, then sit back and enjoy our new, tidy house.

I don’t feel quite as judgemental now as I, too, sit with unpacked boxes at our home, a full year after we moved in.
