On June 3, 2026, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated IISc Bengaluru’s Semiconductor Training Fab at CeNSE, established with support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The 3200 sq.ft. (nearly 300 sq.metres) cleanroom facility will provide hands-on semiconductor manufacturing training and train up to 700 students annually. Building on a programme that has trained 1400 + participants, it aims to strengthen India’s semiconductor talent pipeline.
