(IAN LOT)

A PROTEST over asylum seekers outside a primary school in Plymouth yesterday drew groups on both sides - and condemnation from the school’s headteacher.

Far-right protestors began gathering outside Salisbury Road Primary School from 11am saying they were taking action against “asylum seekers being housed in Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) near schools”.

Young children were seen getting involved in the protest, chanting and holding signs.

Meanwhile, a counter-protest formed on the other side of the road, with this side chanting “Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here”, and holding signs with the slogan “Plymouth is for everyone”.
