Council to top-up cash shortfall for holiday food scheme

DUDLEY Council plans to top up a funding shortfall for a family support scheme with cash from its own coffers.

Councillors at a meeting of the authority's cabinet on June 11 were asked to approve another two years of the Holiday Food Activities Programme (HAF) which helps low-income families when schools are closed for holidays.
The programme aims to provide activities and meals for the 13,000 Dudley youngsters who qualify for free school meals outside of term time.
