Welcome to the latest incarnation of our ‘Cities’ edition.
For this issue, we focus on a few other far-flung destinations, including the emirate’s East Asian cousin, Singapore. It’s not the well-worn consumer themes that interested our editor-at-large for this issue, with Joe Mortimer exploring art and architecture in his four-page ‘featurette’ on page 50.
Adding some starling contrast to Singapore, Salalah is our alternative inclusion, bringing something entirely different into the fold. My own Salalah sojourn was a return to the fabulous Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara (page 42), which captures the essence of Arabia and provides a vantage point to explore the area.
Elsewhere in the issue, we commiserate ‘ze Germans’ and their recent World Cup efforts by extoling the virtues of the latest BMW M4 convertible (page 78) and fine dine at Bangkok’s Nahm, one of the most exceptional restaurants in the whole of Asia (page 62).
