JUSTIN ROSE says he's still capable of cracking the Major jigsaw - he just needs to put the pieces from different decades together at Oakmont.

The Englishman, 45 next month, is favourite to be named Europe's Ryder Cup captain for 2027 at Adare Manor.

But after being edged out by Rory Mcllroy in a Masters play-off in April, he feels he can be a contender once again at this week's US Open.

Rose won it in 2013 at Merion - his single Major success - and said: “I've putted the ball better in the last five or six years than I did throughout my 20s and 30s.
