Give cops Tasers call as attacks grow

A POLICE officer was assaulted almost every hour last year as attacks soared to an all-time high, new figures show.

Police Scotland said there were 7159 assaults against officers in 2024-25, with 425 more frontline cops attacked compared with the previous year - a rise of 6.3 per cent.

It means, on average, 20 officers were attacked by the public every day, including being kicked and punched, with hundreds taken to hospital.
