EURO ACES ARE A GRACE APART

JIM GOODWIN has revealed why he loves working with European players - because they've no airs or graces.

The Dundee United boss has overseen an extensive squad rebuild with no fewer than 11 new faces joining this summer, many from the Continent.

Recent recruits include Ukrainian keeper Yevhenii Kucherenko along with defenders Krisztian Keresztes from Hungary, Bert Esselink from the Netherlands and Iurie Iovu from Moldova.

All four started at Tannadice last week as the Terrors beat UNA Strassen 1-0 in a UEFA Conference League qualifier.

Incredibly, for the first time in United's history, there wasn't a single Scot in their starting XI for a competitive fixture.

However, there is little room for sentiment from Goodwin who is a huge admirer of Europeans and their drive to succeed.
