Findlay: Chance of new deal? It'd be no-brainer

STUART FINDLAY says he would jump at the chance to extend his Hearts contract.

The defender, who joined the Jambos on loan from Oxford in the summer, insists the feelgood factor in Gorgie and the promise of more to come would make the decision a “no-brainer” and, he hopes, boost his Scotland chances.

Since reuniting with his former Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes, Findlay, 30, has been on a high.

Sitting top of the Premiership, having moved three points clear of Celtic with a notable victory in Glasgow, the Tynecastle side head to Falkirk this evening, looking to capitalise on their Parkhead rivals’ league inaction and extend that lead.

A free agent in the summer, it is clear where Findlay’s long-term ambitions lie.

He said: “It would be an absolute no-brainer. I've loved every minute I've been here. It helps when the team are winning on the park.

“It's an atmosphere I love being a part of. I have a good relationship with the manager but it's not something that I'm going to knock his door down about.
