BBC goes wild for nature icon's milestone with week of shows and celebrations

SIR David Attenborough's 100th birthday in May will be marked by a week-long celebration on BBC1, including a new series, two one-off specials and a concert.

The legendary wildlife presenter and conservationist has worked for many broadcasters and streamers during his extraordinary career, which spans more than seven decades.

But it is widely acknowledged that the BBC is his natural habitat.

Bosses at the broadcaster are going all out to mark Sir David's milestone on May 8, with a week of shows that will feature a live concert from the Royal Albert Hall on his birthday.

David Attenborough's 100 Years on Planet Earth will feature the BBC Concert Orchestra and aims to take the audience on a journey through a century of exploration and discovery in the natural world, seen through the prism of Sir David's incredible life.
