SCOTLAND Under-21s lost their opening Euro 2027 qualifier when the ref allowed their Czech hosts THREE attempts to score a penalty.

Scot Gemmill’s side were underwhelming in Uherske Hradiste in the first half and conceded a terrible goal scored by Ondrej Kricfalusi.

But they had improved after the break and were on top until Blackburn sub Kristi Montgomery conceded a penalty.

Farcical scenes saw German whistler Florian Badstubner, on the advice of his assistant, rule that sub keeper Ruairidh Adams moved too soon as he twice saved the initial spot-kicks.
