Early Years

Swarnima learnt about the stigma about women's health early, while growing up in Lucknow. After many months of suffering from a series of period problems, incidents of pain, and lots of discomfort, her mother was told to have a hysterectomy, an experience which was physically and emotionally difficult, and transformative. Her mother's experience stays with her today as she seeks to answer multiple questions through her work: Why is women's health essentialised to just gynaecology? Why do women spend years with a diagnosis, but get little in-depth understanding about their hormones? If most products and medicines are not tested on women, how is female longevity being serviced? How can the future of health be made diagnostically rich, hassle-free, fuelled by highly personalised insights and responding to the rise of chronic health conditions in a fragile climate?
