Full-time Wanderlusts
Woman's Era
|January 2024
Solo woman travellers embracing the digital nomad lifestyle.
With a new promotion letter in hand, Fatima should have been delighted and proud. But working in the corporate world, with a 9-5 job, six days a week, a promotion letter meant her workload and responsibilities would increase, leaving her with almost no time to pursue her passion-travelling.
Fatima never wanted to be static, she had a wanderlust soul. One of her bedroom walls was a canvas of places from around the world that she wanted to visit-from Udaipur, Gulmarg, and Pondichery to Lisbon, Vietnam and Amsterdam. She wanted to see every corner of the world but knew that having a stable job would prevent her from travelling to so many places. In fact, she didn't like having a stable job and life. Her adventurous spirit called out for a freer life. A life where she would travel anywhere she could, embrace different cultures and experience various ways of living.
So, in a bold move to escape her life's mundaneness, Fatima tossed the promotion letter aside and quit her job. She had saved enough up to start her new life of true wanderlust, embrace her adventurous side and embark on a fulfilling journey. She was going to be a digital nomad.
Who Are Digital Nomads?
In an age when technology has erased geographical boundaries, the digital nomad lifestyle has become an enticing prospect for people seeking freedom, exploration and the ability to work from anywhere in the world. Digital nomads hail remote working that provides them with the necessary financial support to pursue their passion for travelling. Many digital nomads are writers, content creators, vloggers, photographers, designers or developers. The job opportunities for a digital nomad are honestly very vast if you are ready to utilise your best skills. Every new place you set out to explore becomes your new office.
