Recognised with the Dr. B. C. Roy National Award by the President of India, for her significant contribution in paediatric liver transplantation, Dr. Mohan's contributions go beyond clinical excellence. She has been instrumental in mentoring the next generation of specialists, establishing India's first structured training programme in pediatric gastroenterology, and shaping national and global treatment protocols for various pediatric conditions. With over 500 pediatric liver transplants, numerous global firsts—including the youngest domino liver transplant—and more than 120 scientific publications, her work has been instrumental in saving countless young lives.
Beyond her clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Mohan plays a key role in healthcare policymaking, serving as an advisor to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) and the National Board of Examinations. Her leadership in professional organisations, including serving as President-Elect of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (2025), underscores her commitment to advancing pediatric healthcare on a national scale.
A celebrated speaker and media presence, Dr. Mohan has been featured in Forbes (2021) as a “Powerful Performer”. Her relentless dedication, combined with an unmatched passion for pediatric healthcare, has cemented her status as a trailblazer in the field. She has held senior positions in academic bodies and recently got elected as President 2026 of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, a national pediatric association of nearly 50,000 pediatricians, a position acquired by a women after 26 years.
