Starlink is a satellite internet constellation constructed by SpaceX, the American aerospace manufacturer founded by Musk. Utilizing a constellation of small satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), Starlink aims to provide high-speed internet access across the globe. Unlike traditional internet services, Starlink bypasses the complex network of terrestrial cables and base stations. Right now, there are over 4,500 Starlink satellites orbiting Earth making up more than 50% of all active satellites. Musk’s ambition doesn’t stop here; plans are to launch up to 42,000 satellites in the coming years to dominate the industry and connect the globe.
