TESLA ROADSTER GETS NEW UNVEILING DATE ONCE AGAIN

The Tesla Roadster — long positioned as the company’s halo supercar and a symbol of its engineering ambitions — has once again seen its unveiling date pushed back.

CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the reveal event originally planned for April 1 will not take place as scheduled. Instead, he now expects it to occur “probably in late April.”

For many Tesla followers, another delay is hardly surprising. The next-generation Roadster has become one of the most anticipated — and repeatedly postponed — vehicles in the company’s history. First introduced in prototype form in 2017, the electric supercar was initially projected to arrive as early as 2020. That timeline has steadily shifted as Tesla prioritized higher-volume models, manufacturing expansion, and new AI-driven initiatives.

A SUPER CAR YEARS IN THE MAKING

When Tesla unveiled the Roadster prototype nearly a decade ago, it made bold performance claims: 0–60 mph in under two seconds, a top speed exceeding 250 mph, and a projected 620-mile range on a single charge. The company also teased a SpaceX package involving cold-gas thrusters to further enhance acceleration and handling.

Those headline-grabbing specifications positioned the Roadster not merely as a fast electric vehicle, but as a technological showcase — a demonstration of what Tesla’s battery systems, power electronics, and performance engineering could achieve at the extreme end of the spectrum.
