THE NEW TECH COMPANION FOR YOUR CREATIVE COOKING TIME
-
Your Apple News+ subscription has become a whole lot tastier as Apple is rolling out a dedicated food offering with iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4. The new section brings tens of thousands of recipes, restaurant reviews, kitchen tips, and more from some of the most respected names in food publishing, meaning it's poised to transform how we interact with food media.
FOOD ON YOUR PHONEApple News+ Food isn’t a half-baked idea; it’s a fully realized culinary hub. Apple has promised that the new service will deliver a smorgasbord of content from top-tier food publishers like Allrecipes, Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, Good Food, Serious Eats, and EatingWell, with more partners expected to join the lineup in future updates. It's a carefully curated experience that blends editorial storytelling with practical tools for home cooks.
This addition is a natural evolution for Apple News+ subscribers already paying $12.99 monthly for access to premium articles, magazines, and audio stories. The Food section expands on the app's existing Food topic, which previously offered a modest selection of articles. Now, it’s a full-blown destination featuring not only recipes but also in-depth restaurant reviews, advice on healthy eating, and guides to must-have kitchen gadgets. Even non-subscribers get a taste of the free selection of stories and recipes.
The timing couldn't be better. As spring blooms and home cooks look for fresh inspiration, This story is from the April 11, 2025 edition of AppleMagazine.
