Flyers rush for selfies with PM Modi's cut-out
The Statesman Kolkata
|September 18, 2025
Hundreds of passengers at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport jostled to take selfies beside a life-size cutout of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, coinciding with his 75th birthday.

Airport authorities said the rush of passengers eager to capture a moment with the cutout forced them to set up three separate selfie zones across the terminal.
The cutouts were placed at domestic and international arrival areas as well as the security hold zone. By noon, more than 500 passengers had posed with the Prime Minister's image, airport sources confirmed.
The occasion also marked the observance of Yatri Seva Diwas (passenger service day), celebrated across airports under the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
