Dy CM Singh Deo urges speedy execution of irrigation project to transform agriculture in State

DEPUTY Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Thursday directed officials to expedite the long-pending Upper Lanth and Lower Indra Irrigation Project, stressing its transformative potential for agriculture and livelihoods in western Odisha.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan here, Singh Deo emphasized that the successful completion of the project could provide irrigation to 29,900 hectares of farmland in Balangir and Nuapada districts. “The project holds the key to transforming the agricultural landscape of the region,” he said, adding that enhanced irrigation would not only boost crop yields but also strength
