Bajaj to buy Allianz's 26% stake in insurance biz

The Bajaj group and the German insurance major Allianz group have decided to walk away from their two insurance joint ventures in the life and non-life areas as the latter agreed to sell their 26% each holdings in the partnership for a total consideration of a little over ₹23,400 crore or 2.6 billion euros.
It is not immediately known how much Allianz had paid for these stakes when they had entered in 2001. It can be recalled that the two parties have been bickering for a few years over the pricing after the Pune-based diversified group turned down the German partner's interest in increasing their stakes in t
