STUDENTS at a County Durham school were wished 'good luck' for their Hadestown performance by the show's West End cast.

Pupils at Durham High School have been hard at work, as they geared up to perform the teen version of the hit Broadway musical last week.

Vicky Gimby, who is a former student at the school, is currently directing the play in London, and organised for the cast to film the special message ahead of the performances at the Gala Theatre in Durham City.

Vicky, who left Durham High in 2006, said: “I want to wish you all the very best for what I know will be a truly brilliant show.

“Hadestown is, above all else, a story about hope. It reminds us that no matter where we find ourselves or what challenges we're facing, the future is never fixed.
