Abigchance was blown
The Galloway News
|June 12, 2025
Sir-No excuses, please. This was our big chance to create a'new model'national park but the main players-GNPA, ScotGov, NatureScot and the council-blew it.
-
GNPA's proposal seemed a good idea at the time and was greeted with enthusiasm. In reality it was unwieldy, unaffordable, unmanageable and could never have resolved D&G's chronic economicand inward investment needs on its own.
ScotGov said they wanted to create another national park but hadn't even assessed the effectiveness of their existing ones which were considered flawed.
