You may wonder why I and other pro-European correspondents don't mention polls before the Brexit vote; that's because they are a decade old and tell us nothing about today's realities.

Re the term 'Remainers', we left the EU in January 2020 - so that label is obsolete. Today, we're 'Rejoiners'.
Opinion polls from 2016 were shaped by claims and promises from Leave that have since proven false. Today's polls reflect full knowledge of Brexit's consequences -and whether people now think it was a mistake worth reversing.
