Gary survives a scare as he can't Adam and Eve lippy pupil's antics

- BY CRAIG SWAN

GARY ANDERSON reckons he risked a heart attack at Ally Pally before giving former pupil Adam Hunt's "mind games" short shrift.

The Scot won a deciding set against the Englishman he used to mentor to reach round two of the PDC World Darts Championship.

Anderson racked up six 180s but claims Hunt, 32, was up to a few tricks of his own away from the board. Initially confessing the 3-2 fightback win was not an enjoyable experience, the 54-year-old said: "Oh, aye. Risking a heart attack ... yeah I love every minute of it!

"I was mad at myself. It started off great in the first set, then I went to mush. The second and third sets, they were all over the bloody place. But I got back to 2-2, I started to take my time and actually look at what I was throwing at."

Hunt found himself in a 2-1 lead over the two-time world champion in the last of the afternoon clashes.
