RACHEL Reeves's Budget is now two weeks old, but its impact on households could last for decades, and pensioners and families need to plan carefully. Emma Sterland, chief financial planning officer at Evelyn Partners, has highlighted five key areas where action may be required.

Savings: From April 2027, the amount that can be saved into Cash ISAs will fall to £12,000, but over-65s can still tuck away up to £20,000 a year in this tax-efficient savings vehicle. The Stocks and Shares ISA remains at £20,000 for all.

"The Junior ISA allowance was untouched so that adds another £9,000 for a family to save or invest tax efficiently if they have children under age 18," Sterland said.
