Body painting artist admits £3million deceit

AN artist and model who lied in a £3million NHS compensation claim was filmed parading in fantasy body paint in front of a festival crowd, a court heard.

Kae Burnell-Chambers, 44, said a blunder by doctors had led to nerve damage which left her struggling to walk, get out of a car or even dress herself.

The fine arts graduate, who specialises in body painting, said she needed equipment including a wheelchair and mobility scooter to get around.

But a 2019 video played to the High Court showed her posing and strutting while painted as a fantasy warrior at the Kustom Kulture Blast Off festival in Lincoln.

It was filmed months before she launched her damages bid over delayed diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome — a condition involving damage to nerves at the end of the spinal cord.
