Head coach joy as capital club bring down big shots

AN emotional Sean Everitt last night hailed one of the best displays of his two-and-a-half-year reign as Edinburgh kicked off their Champions Cup campaign with a superb win over three-time winners Toulon.

It was the capital club’s first tie in the top-tier tournament after two seasons in the Challenge Cup.

And at first the Pool 2 game appeared a nightmare return in the making as they fell 10-0 behind inside six minutes.

But they made light work of the heavy rain to edge 18-17 in front by halftime. And they ran Toulon ragged after the break to run out worthy winners.

Delighted head coach Everitt said: ‘Tm very proud of the boys and the effort they put in, at home and being under the pump after 10 minutes.

“You know, being 10-0 down and then showing composure, knowing what needed to be done.
