STARTUPS AT THE CORE
Munich-based Helsing, Europe’s most valuable defence startup at $12 billion, and ARK Robotics, a maker of autonomous tank-like robots, are part of a booming ecosystem. These firms, once starved of capital, are now advising the government alongside established giants like Rheinmetall and Hensoldt. Berlin is cutting red tape to fast-track innovation, including a draft procurement law enabling upfront payments and limiting tenders to EU firms.
