New bin provides education on the effects of plastic pollution

MARGATE is stepping up its fight against plastic pollution by installing a bold new BinsForGreenSeas unit.

The scheme is part of a national campaign by the environmental charity GreenSeas Trust.
Located near the town's busy seafront and the historic Margate Clock Tower, the bin aims to combat litter and promote responsible waste disposal among residents and the nearly four million tourists visiting the town annually.
A launch ceremony will be held on Thursday (May 8) at 1pm with Councillor Steve Albon, the cabinet member for cleansing and coastal services, and Margate Mayor Cllr Jack Packman in attendance.
