Hamilton station is fully open after £2.1m upgrade

Hamilton West railway station fully reopened at the weekend following a four-month project which has seen one of its platforms being demolished and rebuilt.
The eastbound platform reopened on Saturday, August 30, meaning trains from Glasgow towards Larkhall and Motherwell will now be able stop at the station for the first time since the £2.1 million project began in May.
Network Rail and Scotrail say the upgraded station is now safer and more welcoming for passengers following the major improvement programme.
Platform 2 at Hamilton West has been demolished and rebuilt over the past 15 weeks with the new structure featuring improved surfacing, better drainage and tactile paving to support visually-impaired passengers.
