They are already eliminated from the Conference League before tomorrow's trip to face Sparta Prague.
But Thelin has seen an improvement in his squad and knows to reach the required levels they need to be playing European football every season.
Aberdeen are ranked 183rd in Europe but Thelin is desperate to see the club climb nearer to chairman Dave Cormack’s long-term dream of breaking into the top 100. The boss said: “It's small things. In Europe we play two games per week, some of the players have never done it before. The only way to get better is to live it.
