Daily Record
|October 10, 2025
THE number of people visiting Scotland's shops slumped last month, with last week's Storm Amy keeping them away.
Footfall decreased 2.3 per cent in September, year-on-year data from the Scottish Retail Consortium Sensormatic monitor shows, down from a fall of 0.4 per cent in August.
Visits to shopping centres decreased 1.2 per cent in September, year on year, while retail park footfall fell 1.3 per cent.
Ewan MacDonald-Russell, of the SRC, said retailers will be hoping things pick up before Christmas.
