SOCIAL media platforms have been slammed for marking illegal or harmful online content as being “low-risk” to kids.

Ofcom earlier this year ordered tech firms to assess their platforms' risk to children amid new online safety laws.

Not one marked the self-harm or suicide content examined as “high risk”, a report by the regulator published yesterday found.

Safety campaigners called for urgent action, warning against allowing firms to self-assess.
