There are many excellent European destinations offering an affordable escape, whether you're looking for a sun-soaked beach getaway or a city break to explore the history.

In January, several major airlines are running sales, while hotel booking websites also offer discounted rates. Additionally, the first month of the year is the prime time to scoop up discounted holiday packages, helping you book that dream getaway for less.
